Riptide Parents:
In the summer of 2000 Riptide's Team Goals were as follows:
Practice at least 5x per week!
(If you miss one day, make it up by swimming 2 practices the next day)
PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE...
8& Under:
Practice 3-5X per week!
PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE...
ALL SWIMMERS:
Complete the entire workout given to you by the coach,
PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE...
Have FUN and be good sports at both meets and practices.
Oh yeah, one more thing...PRACTICE,PRACTICE,PRACTICE!!!
**That year we won conference for the first time which led to 8 championships
in a row. Our goals had the results we intended them to have. If we are
ever going to be Team Champions again we must abide by these rules.
Help us help your kids. ENCOURAGE THEM TO COME TO PRACTICE.
Next, parents can help by encouraging their child to TALK TO A COACH after
their races at meets. It's a great time to get advice. It's hard for the
coaches to chase down swimmers...they end up missing many other of the
swimmers races.
Honestly, the Cross Plains meet was painful to watch. The kids that swam
did very well but many of our top swimmers did not even participate in
the meet. Please help us so that does not happen again. DEDICATION to
whatever activity you participate in is so important.
I am really impressed by the dedication of our 8 & under group this
year! They are the building blocks of our future & there are many
smiling faces at practice every day. KEEP IT UP!
THANKS FOR READING.
